If you’re looking for a simple day that’s just about your and your future spouse, a courthouse elopement might be the route for you. But just because you’re eloping at the courthouse doesn’t mean you can’t plan ahead and create an amazing day for the two of you. There are a few ways to upgrade to your day.

Get the perfect attire

It’s still your wedding day. Don’t you want to look amazing? Take the time to find that perfect outfit, whatever that means to you. Maybe you want the traditional white gown or maybe you’d rather get married in a stunning cocktail dress. Maybe your future spouse has always imagined getting married in a classic tuxedo. Coordinate your look and dress up for your wedding day!

Create a few invites

Having invitations isn’t necessary, but it can be a great touch. You can send them to your parents, siblings, or any close friends you can’t imagine your day without. You don’t need many invites, so you can really focus on design. Plus, it makes for a gorgeous souvenir of your special day.

Don’t forget the flowers

Flowers are another great way to add some flair to your day. Obviously, you don’t need a lot of flowers, but we recommend getting bouquets and/or boutonnieres for you and your partner. They’ll look amazing in photos and add the perfect touch to your outfits.

Hire a professional photographer

This is a must! If you’re going to have a courthouse elopement, you definitely want a photographer to capture it. Plus, after your ceremony, you can have a photoshoot in your amazing outfits. Between how good you’ll look and how happy you’ll be, you’ll definitely want photos. And as great as photos by our friends and family can be, there’s nothing quite like hiring a professional. We recommend making the investment and hiring a photographer whose work you love. We’ve got a blog post on how to find and pick your photographer too!

Plan a nice dinner after to celebrate

You don’t need to go all out for this, but you can plan just a small dinner with your close friends and family. You can do this at a restaurant you love or perhaps a loved one is willing to host. Whatever you decide to do, take some time to celebrate with a small group.

Your wedding day is worth spending the time and effort to create an amazing day, regardless of the type of wedding. We believe that investing in just a few details can make the day feel extraordinary.
